Looking for that New York flavor in Houston? Seen those towering deli sandwiches on The Travel Channel or The Food Network and wonder where you could get one of your own? Hungry at 3 in the morning?
Well find your way down Westheimer to Katz’s Deli, it never kloses!
Walking into Katz’s is like walking into a museum dedicated to all things New York City. From the subway themed restrooms to the cityscapes plastered on the walls, its as close to NYC as you can get while still being in Houston. You can even get yourself a black and white cookie made famous by the New York based sitcom, Seinfeld!
Katz’s menu is full of delicious entrees, many drawing from the culinary landscape of the Big Apple, but if this is your first time there be sure you try out one of their deli sandwiches. They’re a can’t miss! For a more authentic NYC feel to your sandwich, order it “Uptown, New York size” and prepare your chops for a serious workout.
Some of MHL’s favorite Katz’s sandwiches include the Katz’s Pride, the Four Meat Combo and the Yankee Pot Roast. Make sure you start your meal off right with a Nosh Basket and if you’ve still got room to satisfy that sweet tooth, definitely order yourself one of the amazing Cheescake Milkshakes.
