Psst. Hey Houston, I’ve got a secret, I’ve got something to tell you. Want the VIP treatment at a club without having to pay a $300+ tab at the end of the night? Want the type of service that comes with reserving bottle service and your own furnished space for free? Yes, FREE. Believe it Houston, such a place exists.
Dubbed the #1 Party Bar in Midtown, Union Bar and Lounge has been around for a few years now so this is probably not the first time you’ve heard of the free parties (better known as, VIP service) offered here, but if you didn’t already know, you know now. But wait, I’ve got a another secret! One that will lead to more freebies that will undoubtedly get your night started off right. Want to know what it is? Find out after the break. (This is starting to sound a bit like a bad attempt to build suspense)
That other secret? Right. Friday nights. From 9:30PM to 10:30PM, OPEN BAR! Yeah, you’re reading it right, free drinks from the bar for an entire hour. Now don’t expect to be able to get yourself a top shelf mixer or a dozen free shots, but you can get your generic mixers and let’s face it, free booze is free booze.
Many MHLers are no stranger to Union and MyHoustonLife was out there again this past weekend enjoying the VIP treatment that anyone can expect while partying at this Midtown hotspot. We showed up around 11PM and beat the crowd in the door (generally, the Union crowd files in closer to midnight). Union prefers that you take advantage of their valet parking, but if you show up early enough, there is plenty of free parking along the adjoining streets around the building (not having to wait on the valets at the end of the night will definately save you a good amount of frustration).
Take a quick survey around the interior of Union and you will see walls lined with roped off VIP areas fully furnished with couches, flat screen TVs and ahem, your very own stripper pole. Take a second look around and you will notice those VIP areas filled with the usual suspects: birthday parties, bachelorette parties, Houston socialites, etc. The club itself is pretty small compared to some of the larger venues found in Houston’s club scene which just adds to the allure of having your own reserved space —the place will be crowded but you won’t feel crowded, well in terms of “club crowded”.
Union’s dress code is a lot more casual than some of your more strict venues allowing for a much more relaxed party atmosphere. The music always pleases, with DJs capable of getting you dancing on the dance floor (the entire place literally turns into a dance floor with ahem, more stripper poles) and keeping you grooving throughout the night. One thing that we can appreciate is that the music here is an eccentric mix of top 40, club bangers, electronica, classic rock, and old school rap, all synced to video mixes playing on all of the venue’s flat screen TVs. Many clubs do this, but Union does it well.
If you haven’t gotten out to Union Bar and Lounge yet, check it out –especially if you are looking to take a large group out. Word has gotten out about their free VIP packages though so if you are looking to book an area, book early! Check out their official site to get more information about booking.
We want to hear from you! Have you been out to Union Bar and Lounge? What was your experience there? Leave a comment.
